Doc Holliday began his working life as a dentist—and so did Dr. Jay. Raised on a farm in New York’s Hudson River Valley, Jay grew up watching Westerns and imagining adventures on the frontier. After a career as a dental surgeon and forensic dentist in New Hampshire, he retired early in 1991 and headed west to follow that childhood fascination.

Along the way, he found another calling: bringing history to life. His love of theater led to years of staged Western gunfight performances, followed by work as a Tombstone walking-tour guide, historian and screen actor. Today, Dr. Jay Rescues History brings that experience to engaging short films about the American West. His videos invite you to explore Tombstone’s past with a storyteller who combines historical curiosity with a performer’s sense of timing.

There’s a purpose behind the charm. Dr. Jay’s mission is to encourage people of every age to preserve history and understand its meaning, using humor and a personal connection to make those stories memorable. For anyone planning a visit—or simply dreaming of a stroll through Tombstone—his videos offer a welcoming way to get acquainted with the people and events behind this legendary town.
