NESTLED high in the Mule Mountains, Bisbee feels like a forgotten chapter in an adventure novel—a place where miners mingle with artists and every corner seems to hold an old secret. Time itself seems to have wandered off to for a cold one at the St. Elmo...

Bisbee doesn’t ask for your attention; she whispers quietly and earns it. Walk these steep streets and you’ll feel the echoes of a copper boomtown that was once the, Copper Capital of the World. Billions of dollars of copper was mined in this town that was the largest between Houston and Los Angeles in the early 1900’s.  Today, Bisbee thrives in a quieter way, with quirky charm drawing artists, writers and those looking to escape the ordinary.

Start your day with a cup of coffee at the Bisbee Coffee Company where the aroma of freshly roasted beans blends with the sound of locals chatting about art and life. Wander through the labyrinthine alleys of Old Bisbee, where pastel-colored homes perch precariously on the hillsides like they’ve been plucked from a pretty postcard.

Step into the Copper Queen Mine, where miners once toiled deep beneath the surface to provide the work with copper. Then make your way to St. Elmo Bar—the oldest continuously operating bar in Arizona. It’s a place where history, laughter and perhaps a ghost or two gather under the glow of vintage lights.

Don’t forget to visit the renowned Bisbee Books & Music a treasure trove for book lovers tucked inside a charming historic building. Its shelves are lined with titles you didn’t know you needed but can’t leave without.

For art enthusiasts, Bisbee’s galleries are a feast for the senses. Explore Sam Poe Gallery featuring eclectic works by local artists, or visit Belleza Gallery where Southwest-inspired pieces take center stage. Each gallery holds the spirit of Bisbee—playful, reflective and full of character.

As the sun sets, make your way to the Copper Queen Hotel said to be haunted by more than just memories. Whether or not you meet one of its famous spirits, you’ll find the stories told over dinner are every bit as enchanting as the view.
